Sale of Craigpine's Sawmill to Niagara

Murray & Co acted as financial advisor on the sale of Craigpine Timber’s wood processing business to Niagara Sawmilling.

Based in Winton, Craigpine Timber’s plant is Southland’s highest capacity sawmill, complemented by multiple forests holdings across the region. It exports its timber products to a diverse global customer base, in addition to supplying the domestic market.

Operating from plants in Invercargill and Ashburton, Niagara Sawmilling is focused on radiata pine, producing milled timber and a range of remanufactured products. Niagara has been wholly owned by Invercargill's Richardson family since 1954.

The transaction was completed in November 2020.
