Acquisition of Geosoft by Seequent

Murray & Co acted as financial advisor to NZ software company Seequent and its controlling shareholder Accel-KKR on the acquisition of Geosoft.

Seequent provides geological modelling and 3D visualisation software used throughout the mining industry globally as well as in the civil construction and geothermal energy sectors (Leapfrog software). The company has 240 employees and offices in 13 countries. Murray & Co previously acted as sole financial advisor to Seequent on its sale to Accel-KKR.

Geosoft’s Oasis montaj® software is the global industry standard for analysing geophysics data and its Target for ArcGIS software is the market-leading geological application for ESRI ArcPRO. Users include government geological surveys, mining and oil & gas companies, engineering consultancies and universities. The company has over 120 employees across North America, Europe, Australia, Latin America and Africa.

The transaction completed in December 2018.
